Just what species are you thinking about?

I'm sure that we might be able to remember what little of that creature without the site up.

One of the main things I'd need to remember is if Whips in this world are sociable creatures that have family groups, or if they're always loners - that'll be pretty important to his backstory, as if they're loners I may need to make one or two adjustments to get him to fit. There may be a few other things like that too... *begins racking brain for other possible discrepancies*

I remember their society revolves around the queens, and the queens having several mates, but that's all.

As I recall, Syke mentions that there's a large variety of whips.  The mini whips are definitely sociable, and from what's been shown follow a dominant female.  Sheana's whip in Campus Safari, which was maybe a little larger than a shivae seemed very sociable, but being a pet it's hard to say if all that size would be.  The ones mentioned in Akaelae, which were the size for Mounties to ride, lived in a group and followed a queen... and seemed to like others unless given a reason not to when shown in No Angel.  The jumbo sized ones seen in Shivae seemed to be loners, and not very sociable (*nom**nom**nom*)

So it probably depends on how big he's going to be.

Well on other RP boards he stands 25 feet at the shoulder, so I guess he'd be in the last category.

Yeah, I can work with that...in some ways better than the sociable idea. In his official backstory Rhy comes from a large community and is very sociable, but the matriarchal or queen society ethos wouldn't fit into that picture. I could make him more of a loner though, or perhaps from a very small community with few members. I might even introduce the love of his life as an NPC or support character (Not an official character, don't worry...she'd only ever appear with him, if she appeared at all, and wouldn't play a big role. I'm not trying to sneak 4 characters here or anything  ).

That's exactly what this discussion is about right now NTCF, wether or not the character would be acceptable. Shortly after I first joined I saw the rule that while Whips were somewhat discouraged, they were acceptable under certain circumstances, and both Zealith and Dae confirmed this just a few posts above.  So once we've worked out the details like we are doing now, I'll put up a bio and hopefully he'll be accepted.

Speaking of a bio, I'll try to post one up sometime in the next few days for admin review. I'll also try to update Summer Meadow soon too (for all those who are waiting on me).

I'd strongly suggest reducing his size dramatically... that big is going to fall into the non-playable area.

Or to put it simply, we hate to set a precedent where someone can create a character off-hand that overpowers the other characters... especially since as a player character people are more limited in direct actions against your character, and we'd hate for a new person to come in, point at your character, then start making dragons who love to kick shivae tail.   :

Yeah, I wondered if his size might be a problem. I think I could cut him down a little for this world without too much hassle. I will mention that I'm working on a list of weaknesses to offset his size and strength, starting with the fact that he wouldn't be able to breathe the acid that Whips are so well known for (on other boards he couldn't breathe fire anyway, so that fits just fine). Also his personallity is such that he would try to avoid any kind of violence even to the point of leaving the area if he were being attacked rather than fighting back - he'd only retaliate in the most dire of circumstances - but I hear ya about setting the prescedent, yeah.

I think for a whip, you'd have to get Tiff's permission rather than ours though.

I suspect it would be better, that way any newbies that complain we could send to Tiff. ^_^ Easily takes off the pressure for us two.

Why do I get the feeling that Seath's going to fade from existance...

After all, he's got a fear of Shivae so he's not really showing up a whole lot because most of the more active profiles are Shivae.

In regards to Seigi, s/he prefers staying out of the limelight.

I know I started something in that topic, I just added Oringo, Seigi, and Seath to that current topic where Whitewolf's character is.  I think I just added to the danger... well, I know that Seath is in danger.
