Granddaddy's taken a turn for the worse.  He's been in the hospital for a couple weeks new, and has been in and out repeatedly over the past year with recurring "pneumonia" they no one bothered to do a sputum sample of until recently and, lo and behold, he's had a staph infection in his lungs.  When I saw him last week he was still lucid and had some energy and was having his breathing treatments ratcheted down in anticipation that he could leave soon.  Now they're having trouble keep things clear again, he can't pass a swallow test so they had to put in a feeding tube, and he's becoming less and less aware of what's going on and sleeping a lot more.

I've heard talk of a lung transplant, but they think he's also had several minor strokes that went undetected last year so they want to do an MRI and see where he is neurologically before they start giving him new organs that may not entirely be the problem.  Nana is freaking out because it's coming to a point where she'll have to start making decision about the life of the man she's spent the past 50+ years with, Aunt Penny is freaking out because she's an emotional person and she's a days drive away in Atlanta and doesn't want to lose her dad, Mom is sad and doesn't want to lose her father either but she understands things don't last forever.

Me?  I know a while ago he started to be afraid he wouldn't see John and I reach success.  I wanted him to at least make it to my graduation in a few months, to know we'd made it and the plan to lift us higher than those before us had worked.  But when I went to see him last week I got the same feeling about him that I did about Mimi (great grandmother) when I saw her at her 98th birthday a few months before she died:  He won't be here much longer.  Doesn't matter how good he's doing now, the age is coming to an end.

Well, I have 5 days worth of medication left and $0 funds to get a refill with. My healthcare provider sent me a discount card for 2 weeks worth of meds for free. I tried to use the card today, I got it Friday, and its invalid. They sent me a used card! Still haven't heard anything from the company that makes the pills, they have a program that I can get my meds for free. Free would be nice, at current rate their $10 each and I have to take them daily.

Fears of what might happen if I don't get my Heart Medication are beginning to wig me owt a little.

Well, I posted my Anti-complaints, time for the other end..

First, not happy my wife had a C-section when she would've probably done perfectly fine with a vaginal birth.  More cost for me and longer recovery for her.  But I've mostly gotten past that.

The major complaint comes from when I went in to do some paperwork on Saturday to make sure all was in order, seeing as my Paternity leave was rather sudden and early.  On the way, I was annoyed that my lane was slowing down and looking to move over to avoid it when it stopped in front of me.  Not a good time to find out your brakes are a bit soft and ending up on the hind end of a 4 car chain accident..  And it looks as if liability limits may be a big issue...  Even without having to pay anything for the accident, the premiums WILL go up, and I really don't need any extra monetary burden...

The good news is my van is fairly sturdy and working just fine, plus I did get around $2900 for tax refund, which will quickly disappear.  Not liking the landscape though.  Rent is high for income, a combination of gas prices and not-as-fuel-efficient-as-I-like van is worrying, my wife's mom is on the last of her unemployment, which means less coming in, a lot of bills left, higher car insurance premiums, and I am not liking where this budget thing is going..

Time to talk to trade for a smaller more efficient car. :/  I'd like to do that myself... but well... we already only have one vehicle and it gets pretty good gas mileage.  Definitely feel your pain, we've cut and cut and have no more room for cutting.  We're going month to month at the moment until we get more debts cleaned up.

Who ever said mid to late 20's are a man's prime years  should be shot. I'm trapped in an old coots body. Weather changed last night and I woke up hurting in places that don't need to hurt. Ibuprofen, 6-8 at a time and it lulls the pain. Ugh.

Just be careful with that Ibuprophen. Too much of it and it'll give you ulcers. Which means that the problem will only get worse, as you'll have all the other problems AND ulcers too.

If you can find it, try some Arnica Gel or Arnica Cream. It's a topical pain reliever that works almost instantly AND it helps bruises and such heal faster!

Granted, it's not too good for deep muscle pain, but it helps the surface hurtiness.

Bad knees, bad wrists, missing finger hunk, once broken ribs, etc.......I AM the walking dead lol
